Catalan Vote Threatens Euro While Dollar Rises Against Basket Of Peers – 21 December, 2017

The Euro is down 0.3 percent to $1.1837 as Catalan voting results were counted to elect Catalonia’s parliament and separatists parties winning 70 out of 135 seats. the Dollar index was up 0.2 percent but is still down 0.5 percent for the week underpinned by the approval of the U.S. senate approved a bill to fund federal government and a tax code overhaul. The Dollar was also steady against the Yen at 113.33 and is expected to gain 0.6 percent for the week.
