Dollar Dips, Euro Holds Steady – 2 March, 2020
The euro climbed to its highest since early January, gaining against the greenback as the coronavirus continues to spread. Against a basket of six major currencies, the dollar dipped to 97.544, while the euro reached as high as $1.1185 overnight, its highest since the start of the year, before settling at $1.1129. The yen last stood at 108.26 per dollar, while the pound was slightly higher at $1.2767. The Aussie was stable after hitting an 11 year low before trading 1.6% higher at $0.6537. The New Zealand dollar was steady at $0.6537.
