Dollar Edges Higher While Oil Prices Dip – 4 March, 2019

Oil prices dipped with lower growth expectations and fuel demand, with West Texas Intermediate crude falling 0.5 percent to $56.30 per barrel. In currencies, the pound fell 0.1 percent to $1.3172, while the euro remained stable at $1.1335, having hit an 11 day low the day before to $1.1309. The dollar held a two week high against a basket of major peers, gaining 0.1 percent to 96.668. Elsewhere, the offshore yuan was steady at 6.7068 per dollar, while the yen dropped 0.1 percent to 111.86 per dollar.
