Dollar Fluctuates But Lands Slightly Higher – 8 April, 2020
Minor optimism that the coronavirus has reached a peak in the U.S. caused the greenback to fluctuate, held back by the future outlook of the economic fallout caused by the pandemic. The dollar index was up 0.16% to 100.12. The pound gained 0.41% to $1.2388 against the dollar, while the dollar rose 0.13% against the yen to 108.84 yen. The euro slipped 0.28% to $1.0858. The Australian dollar hit a three week high, rising 1.10% to $0.6234. Analysts have begun mapping out the longterm effects the virus will have on the economy and implications of the stimulus package by Washington for clues on the future of global economies.
