Dollar Just Under Two Year High- 27 May, 2019

The dollar was trading just under a two year low, and the euro struggled due to remarks made by officials about the Italy’s rising debt and structural deficit levels. The dollar was up 0.2% to 97.804 against six major peers, only 0.6% below the two year high of 98.371 it had hit on Thursday. After European parliamentary elections, the euro reached a 1 1/2 week high of $1.1215 before dipping slightly to settle 0.1% lower to $1.1182. The dollar dipped 0.1% against the yen to 109.46 yen, just 0.4% above the three month low of 109.02 yen it hit a couple weeks ago. The Australian dollar was 0.75% above the four month low it touched las week to $0.6919.
