Dollar Near Two Week High – 23 April, 2020
The dollar was just under a two week high, on track for its biggest weekly gain since the beginning of the month, as the European Union left out key details about it stimulus fund, causing the euro to drag. Against a basket of major currencies, the dollar was 0.8% stronger for the week and up 1% against the euro. The Australian and New Zealand dollars both dipped roughly 0.2%, with the kiwi at $0.5987 and the Aussie at $0.6356. The euro dropped to a one month low of $1.0756 this week after the EU put together a trillion euro emergency fund for damages caused by the shuddering of the economy due to the coronavirus.
