Dollar Steadily Gains Against Major Currencies – 27 March, 2019

The dollar gained against its peers as the global economic outlook continues to dive as well as more central banks dovish policy stance. Against a basket of six major currencies, the dollar index gained 0.1 percent to 96.879. The euro was slightly higher at $1.1253, but the single currency is still down 0.45 for the week. The New Zealand dollar managed to edge up 0.25 percent to $0.6815, having dropped 1.6 percent the previous session. The Australian dollar fell 0.7 percent, and sterling was stable at $1.3188 having dipped to $1.3143 the previous session. Against the dollar, the yen gained 0.3 percent to 110.19 yen.
