Dollar Still Stable After President Trump’s Speech – 12 November, 2019
Investors highly anticipated a speech by U.S. President Donald Trump at The Economic Club of New York, looking for clues of progress made on a trade deal with China. Instead, President Trump focused mainly on the Federal Reserves interest rates. The dollar was little changed on the day, ending the day 0.11% higher to 98.310 against a basket of six major currencies. The offshore yuan was weaker against the dollar, slipping 0.17% to 7.018. The dollar dipped 0.08% against the yen and 0.09% against the Swiss franc.
