Dollar Strong Against Euro But Dips To Yen – 23 January, 2020
The European Central Bank left policy and guidance unchanged and held interest rates steady, causing the dollar to rise against the euro. The euro dipped 0.32% against the dollar to $1.1055, having reached a one and a half month low of $1.1037 in earlier trading. With the outbreak of a new virus in China, the dollar fell 0.32% against the yen to 109.48 as investors were looking for safer bets. The greenback gained 0.28% against the offshore yuan, on track for its worst week since April, shedding 1% of its value since Monday when it hit a six month high. The pound was close to a two week high despite dipping 0.19%.
