Euro Falls to 4 Month Low against Dollar – 10 February, 2020

Demands for the safe haven dollar boosted the currency to a four month high against the euro on continuous concerns over the coronavirus and its possible effects over the global economic outlook. U.S. job data for the month of January also helped the greenback as results were strong. The euro dipped to a four month low of $1.0907 before settling at $1.0914, while the pound fell to a two month low at $1.2870 before rebounding to $1.2917. The Aussie fell to its lowest in 11 years to $0.6656 before settling slightly higher at $0.6679. As of Monday, the virus has spread to over 40,000 people, with 909 confirmed deaths in China and 319 cases in 24 other countries.
