Euro Flirts With 6-1/2 Month Low – 28 May, 2018
At nearly a 6- 1/2 month low against the dollar, the euro’s slight recovery from the beginning of the week slowly faded to its lowest since the start of November. The common currency had fallen to a low of $1.1607 after a slight spike to $1.1728 earlier in the day on a veto of a vocal critic of the single currency as economy minister by Italy’s president Sergio Mattarella. The euro is down 0.45 percent at 126.620 yen, with the dollar reaching 109.830 yen and the dollar index against a basket of six major currencies rising by 0.2 percent to 94.370.
