May Loses Brexit Vote, Sterling Hits One Month Low – 14 February, 2019

Prime Minister Theresa May lost a Brexit vote in parliament on Thursday, causing sterling to hit just above a one month low, with time running out as the divorce from the European Union is scheduled to take place on March 29th. The pound was at trading at $1.28 and down 0.4 percent after the vote, hovering just above the one month low of $1.2773 it had hit earlier in the day. Against the euro, sterling fell more than half a percent to 88.40 pence. Investors are watching cautiously with thoughts of the different possibilities of whats to come including a delay in the departure date.
