OPEC: Global energy demand will rise 23% by 2045
The Secretary-General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies, Haitham Al-Ghais, said at an oil and gas conference in Nigeria that global demand for all forms of energy is expected to rise by 23% by 2045. Al-Ghais explained The global oil industry needs investments worth $12.1 trillion during the same period, adding that the industry is not on the right track to reach this level of investment yet. “Global demand for primary energy is expected to increase by a significant rate of up to 23% in the period Until 2045 which means we will need all forms of energy, we will require innovative solutions such as carbon utilization and storage, hydrogen projects as well as a circular carbon economy which has received positive support from the G20.”
