Toned down political tensions and an 11 percent rise in European exports helped the euro stand firm while the pound fell to a one week low against the euro on growing concerns that Britain’s exit from the European Union may be heading towards rough waters. Sterling rallied to to 90.38 before settling down to 90.24 pence. Against the dollar, the pound fell before trading up 0.2 percent to $1.2664. Having its slowest rise since March 2017, Britain’s consumer prices annual rate only rose 2.3 percent.
