Pound Gains On Brexit Advancements – 30 April, 2019

The pound hit a two week high on reports that Brexit talks have been improving and moving forward. Sterling rose to $1.3049 after falling to a two month low last week, with help from both advancements in Brexit talks as well as broad dollar weakness and end of the month portfolio changes. Against the dollar, sterling was on track for its largest daily gain in over a month, gaining 0.8 percent to $1.3047. It gained 0.6 percent against the euro to 85.91 pence.
