Pound Gains And Euro Strengthens Against Dollar – 3 April, 2019
Advances in U.S.-China trade talks with both sides aiming to bridge differences helped the euro remain firm against the dollar. The single currency gained 0.1 percent against the greenback to $1.1246, redeeming itself after it fell to its lowest levels in over three weeks on Tuesday to just above a 2017 low of $1.1177. Against the dollar, the yen dipped to a two week low at 111.575 yen. In an effort to avoid a national crisis, British Prime Minister Theresa May looked towards a Brexit compromise, which helped the pound gain 0.2 percent to $1.3180 for the day.
