Pound Tumbles To Seven Week Low – 24 October, 2018
Sterling fell to a seven week low before Prime Minister Theresa May’s meeting with Conservative Party lawmakers who are concerned about the progress of her Brexit negotiations. Sterling fell 0.7 percent to $1.2889, its lowest since September 5th, but was flat against a weak euro at 88.31 pence. Uncertainty about a fallback plan for a border between Northern Ireland and Ireland have many investors concerned with a ticking clock and just five moths before the United Kingdom is divorced from the European Union.
