Sterling Climbs Before EU Summit – 11 October, 2018
Hopes of a Brexit deal helped the pound rise against a weak U.S. dollar, though Ireland border concerns kept the currency in check. Sterling rose to a near three-month high of $1.3295, topping off at $1.3250, up 0.3 percent. It was down 0.2 percent against the euro to 87.41 pence. Hopes are rising that a Brexit deal can be reached by or before the EU summit held on October 18.
