Sterling Hits Nine Month High Versus Euro – 12 April, 2018
European Central Bank policymakers expressed concern about a trade war with the U.S. and its impact on the euro which caused sterling to hit a nine month high against it. sterling strengthened to its strongest since the beginning of June, up 0.8 percent to 86.43 pence per euro. The pound also continued a rally against the dollar trading up 0.4 percent to $1.4199. Analysts expect ECB to increase rates since wage data is looking up and possible Brexit risks have calmed for now.
