Sterling Manages To Stabilize After No Brexit Deal – 15 January, 2019

In a Parliament vote, Prime Ministers Theresa May’s Brexit plans were crushed 432-202, leaving uncertainty for Britain’s future in the European Union and causing sterling to sink on shaky grounds. Against the dollar, the pound dipped over 1 percent before managing to stabilize at $1.2864, up from the days low of $1.2670 but down from its previous session high of $1.2917. Sterling was little changed after gaining 0.4 percent overnight against the euro to 88.65 pence. Against the yen, the dollar remained flat at 108.655 yen, advancing 0.5 percent overnight. The Australian dollar dipped 0.2 percent to $0.7177 overnight.
