The US dollar is rising as the Empire State Manufacturing Index rose in New York State
The US dollar rose against major currencies with the Empire State Industrial Index rising in New York State for the first time in five months in April, in addition to the rise in confidence among homebuilders in the US for the fourth month in a row in April .
The dollar index, which measures the performance of the US currency against 6 major currencies, rose 0.413%, and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York said that the Empire State Industrial Index rose to 10.8 in April from -24.6 in March.
The euro fell against the US dollar by 0.66% to $1.0926 after hitting a one-year high of $1.108 on Friday, the Japanese yen fell against the dollar by 0.45% to 134.40 yen, and the pound sterling fell against the dollar by 0.31% to $1.2374.
