Trum Impeachment Inquiry Causes Dollar To Dip – 24 September, 2019
An inquiry into the impeachment of U.S. President Donald Trump caused a dip in the dollar. After falling 0.3% earlier in the day, the dollar index was stable against a basket of six major currencies. After a UK court ruling Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s decision to shut down parliament was unlawful, sterling traded 0.1% lower to $1.2485. Oil futures were on the decline due to global economic uncertainty and trade tension between the U.S. and China, with the ongoing negotiations causing a slowdown in Chinas economic activity.
