Donald trumps comments about his dissatisfaction with Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell’s decision to hike interest rates caused the dollar to dip against the yen and a basket of major currencies. The dollar index fell 0.44 percent to 95.475 against a basket of six currencies. The yen climbed 0.18 percent to 109.87 yen, while the dollar fell below the 110 yen mark for the first time in almost two months. The euro gained 0.37 percent to $1.1523, the offshore yuan was at 6.8262 per dollar, up 0.16 percent, and the Australian dollar was o.14 percent higher at $0.7350.
