U.S.-China Trade Talks Remerge, Dollar Dips Against Yen – 6 May, 2019
Concerns over the outlook of global growth were brought into the forefront once again on the backs of U.S.- China trade talks. The dollar hovered just above a five-week low against the yen, hitting 110.285 yen before settling at 110.685 yen. Against a basket of six major currencies, the dollar was relatively unchanged at 97.53. The euro remained flat at $1.1199, while the Australian dollar was hovering near a four month low despite gaining 0.1 percent to $0.6993. After giving up more than half a percent overnight, the pound traded slightly higher at $1.3107.
