U.S. Yields Set Dollar At Four Month High vs. Yen – 17 May, 2018

The dollar hit a four month high against the yen due to rising U.S. Treasury yields, reflecting optimism of the U.S. economy. The dollar jumped 0.2 percent to 110.975 yen and its highest since late January, while the dollar index last traded at 93.468, hitting just below a five month high of 93.632 against a basket of six major currencies. After hitting a five month low of $1.1763, the euro edged up 0.1 percent to $1.1805.
